The CILT Annual Forum AGM and Awards Dinner was held at Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre;
The new CILT President is Dr Murray KIng FCILT and the new Vice President is Roy Weaver FCILT.

This year we celebrate 50 Years with the various sections holding celebrations and notice of these will be out shortly when the final planning is completed, present and past members will be most welcome to attend these functions.
We are at present calling for nominations for the annual awards which will be presented at this years Award's Dinner to be held as usual after the Forum Day. This year Northern Section are hosting this event and the functions will be held at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre in Waipuna Road, Mt Wellington Auckland.
CILT NZ Imm.President Peter Snow attended the CILT
International Conference and Council meetings being
held on the 4th to the 7th of May, these are being held in
Mauritius this year.
There has been a few staff changes at CILT UK with the
retirement of the Director General Cyril Beasdale who has been
replaced with Bernard Auton.

Under 35's Developmnet Group Launch 25th November 2008 at the
Ports of Auckland - Fergusson Terminal.
In May of 2008, CILT came up with the idea to form a
group directing support towards the young people within the
industry, a platform to network with other like minded
individuals and offer a range of opportunities and personal
growth for those that are enthusiastic to take part. The
realization of this unique and necessary sector encouraged the
creation of the Under 35 Group.
The Under 35 Launch Event was held at the Port of Auckland on
Tuesday 25th November 2008. With at least 80 young, vibrant and
like minded people present, the atmosphere was both positive
and electric.
The intention was to make known the U35 name, its goals and
aims. Of those present, many seized the opportunity to share
their experiences and network with each other. U35 launch off
ground zero well exceeded our expectation.
U35 evening was honoured to host the presentation of the
Norman Spencer Memorial Award to Sandy Gibson. Passionate and
purpose driven , Mr Gibson's tremendous knowledge and input
into the industry has been phenomenal and will continue to add
value to the future of the U35 and the industry growth.
Our guest speaker John Lister(from the Spirit of Adventure)
shared many gold nuggets with charisma and humour that kept us
all entertained.
To our sponsors of the evening - POAL, DHL, Maersk
Logistics, Mackay Shipping and COSCO NZ - we thank and applaud
your participation. Without your generosity and support, the
evening would not have been as successful.
Monthly events will be held which include site visits, guest
speakers, social evenings, to follow through creating
opportunities and learning plateau for the young crowd. We also
hope to encourage the next generation to be excited about the
industry as a career and to ensure that it is common knowledge
and an achievable option for them.

The Under 35's Development Group of the Northern
Section will be officially launched at a meeting to be held on
the 25th November 2008 at the POAL Building - Tamaki Room,
sponsored by Ports of Auckland.

Executive Director Appointment - May 2008
We are pleased to announce the appointment of
Brian Stocking
FCILT as Executive Director of CILT NZ.
Brian will be working three days per week, normally Tuesdays to
Thursdays, but these days will vary according to the
requirements of the position and of Brian's other outside
commitments.
