Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates

The Logistics Training Group (LTG) CILT *UK Professional Diploma & Certificate in Logistics and Transport

CILT's own UK Diploma in Logistics is New Zealand's longest running and best-known applied qualification in logistics and supply chain management. Recently the diploma was renamed and updated as the CILT UK Professional Diploma in Logistics & Transport. Massey University offered the Diploma from 1995 until 2004 when it withdrew and The Logistics Training Group (LTG) continued as the provider. Walter Glass has been the Course Director since 1995 and continues this role with LTG. Walter is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (FCILT) in New Zealand.

The diploma is relatively unique as its students are practitioners in the profession, not newcomers, and want their learning is relevant to their current and future roles. This qualification is a self-paced, distance learning, professional diploma, with international recognition and registration on the UK/EU qualifications framework. It is probably the most widely recognised applied qualification of its type in the world and upon completion graduates are able to apply for Chartered Member status in the CILT (MCLIT) and a European Senior Logistician (ESLog). Several hundred logistics professionals in New Zealand have enrolled in this course and graduates are now found in senior management positions in leading New Zealand and Australian logistics & supply chain companies, many going on to post-graduate studies.

LTG is based in Palmerston North, but supports students with block courses for compulsory modules in Auckland, Palmerston North and Christchurch (minimum numbers apply) or wherever there are adequate student numbers, and can service international locations such as Australia, S.E. Asia and the Pacific Islands on request.

Diploma enrolments are based around 2 Semesters per year; the first beginning in February - mid July and the second from late July until the end of October, with a 3-month break over summer.

Entities that have supported graduates are frequently industry leaders and include; Fonterra, The Warehouse, Foodstuffs, CHEP, Schneider-Electric, New Zealand Post, Douglas Pharmaceuticals, Toll TranzRail, Fletchers, NZ Defence Forces, Pumpkin Patch, Fisher & Paykel, Chevron Texaco, DHL, Air NZ, Shell, Carters, Telecom, AFFCO, Peter Baker Transport, Onesource, Visy Industries Aust, Queensland Rail, UN Aid to name but a few.
