INFORMATION:
The Transport Research and Educational Trust Board makes
grants to individuals and organisations proposing projects
involving or relating to transport, including logistics. We
look for projects that further our aims
" to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the study and
advancement of the science of transport in all its branches
within New Zealand."
The Board now has available funds up to $15,000 per
year in one or more scholarships or grants. these may be for
study, investigation, research projects, development of ideas,
sponsoring speakers, or any other application that relates to
the " study and advancement " of transport.

The Board is associated with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in New Zealand Inc, which appoints the Trustees.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
is an international body incorporated by Royal
Charter in 1926, to further knowledge and un-
derstanding of transport.
Applications
The Board invites applications annually around October, and
aims to announce successful candidates by the end of
November.

Successful candidates are expected to share the results of
their study or research with CILT members and the public,
through presentation
of a paper at an Institute section meeting, or by publication
of an article in the Institute's magazine.

2008 Scholarship Winner
The 2008 Scholarship / Grant by the Transport Research and Educational Trust Board has been awarded to Dr Inga Smith of Otago University.
The proposal was for " Assessing Carbon Emissions from Maritime and Aviation International Transport for New Zealand ".
This was viewed as a very relevent project with potentially significant implications for transport in New Zealand.
2007 Winner Scholarship / Grant
The 2007 Grantby The Transport Research and Educational Trust Board has been awarded to the Van der Veer Institute for Parkinson's and Brain Research - This Christchurch based Institute is affiliated with the Canterbury and Otago Universities and Canterbury's District Health Board and Medical Research Foundation.
